At Home With Ugg

I am a big homebody most of the time.  I love traveling and exploring new cities, trying new places to eat, and dancing on a Saturday night with my friends.  However, there is nothing as good for my soul as a night at home, with Dave, a glass of wine and our pups curled up next to us.  I have always been a huge fan of Ugg Boots (who isn’t really?). Even as the trends have changed and different styles have emerged, Ugg is a classic timepiece, that withstands the winds of change.  They have adopted and evolved but always stayed true to their brand.  There are not many people that do not recognize the ever popular sheepskin boots that so many have donned.

While I wear my Uggs all winter long for all different types of occasions, Uggs have such a home-y style to me.  I cannot tell you how excited I was to pull these out of the back of the closet once the temperatures dropped.  Just sliding my feet into the ever familiar, soft inside lining brought back all sorts of memories-snowball fights, cool breeze Fall walks with the dogs, trips to a pumpkin patch, and walking the Magnificent Mile in Chicago during Christmas time.  All that from just a shoe!! Crazy right? But isn’t that the best part of fashion? The feeling it gives you when you put it on? Don’t you get that little extra pep in your step when you are wearing your favorite shirt? Or maybe a new pair of heels gives you that little boost of confidence to go talk to the guy? Or kill the interview? That is my favorite part! How clothing can change your day.  Because fashion is so much more then just boots, its about making you feel good at the end of the day.

Anyways, my Uggs are out for the season.  Dave got me the short traditional style with the button on the side last year.  I paired them with some denim and a soft, cozy stripped top.  Plus this beanie is going to be on repeat all winter long (and it’s only $15!)!!

I’m on a plane headed back to Chicago this weekend to try on wedding dresses! Wish me luck! And check out my Instagram Stories for some BTS sneak peeks! ūüôā Have a great weekend!

Fall Cowl Neck Sweater

I’ve never really been a fan of turtlenecks ever since I was a little girl. ¬†Something about the tightness on my neck, just made me feel claustraphobic and uncomfortable. ¬†However cowl neck sweaters are looser around the neck, don’t go up to my ears and have a similar look! Once I saw this one, I wanted to give the style a try-and I’m so glad I did! This is a Lush sweater from last season and they did not bring it back (so upset about this!) However, I linked below a bunch of similar cowl neck sweaters!

I love the style because it can be super casual with leggings and some sneakers or dressed up with jeans and a pair of booties. Plus they come in a bunch of colors and price options!

Happy Friday Loves! Enjoy your weekend!

The Softest Fall Sweater

Sweater: Takes Two To Trend (under $40!) | Jeans: STS Blue (under $50!) | Heels: Takes Two To Trend | Purse: ASOS | Sunnies: Quay Sunglasses

I’ve been sharing a bunch of Fall looks lately on the blog. ¬†See how I styled this classic plaid¬†shirt or the perfect neutral sweater for the season. Today, I found the softest Fall sweater (and it’s under $40!)! And paired it with some strappy, buckle heels for a little bit of edge. This has to be one of my favorite looks to date on the blog! I’m pretty sure I’m going to be living in this sweater this season-it is that soft and comfortable! Both the sweater and the heels are from Takes Two To Trend- one of my favorite new brands. ¬†It’s owned by my friends Emily and Courtney and they hand pick affordable but super chic and feminine pieces for their shop.

Dave and I are knee deep in wedding planning, we’ve picked a venue, set a date and selected our photographer. ¬†Our colors are blush pink, champagne, and a pop of burgundy. ¬†We decided on who is going to be in the bridal party and are working on ordering our save the date cards! It’s been super exciting but a little overwhelming-there are just so many choices! I’m flying home to Chicago next weekend to go dress shopping with my Mom, sisters and soon to be mother in law! I’m hoping the majority of the planning is finished by the holidays so we can relax a bit. ¬†Our date is set for August 31st of 2018 so it’s going to be coming up quickly. ¬†Can’t wait to share more with you as the plans continue to be finalized.

Wearing White in Fall

I’m not usually a rule breaker, but wearing white after Labor Day is one rule I never follow. ¬†White is a staple in my wardrobe (see this feminine white blouse here) and it can fit into your style for every season. ¬†The key is to understand where it’s place is for each season. ¬†This Fall, there are some trends I am LOVING-including adding pops of cheetah print. ¬†This cheetah clutch is the perfect way to spice up any Fall outfit. ¬†When adding a print like this, keep the majority of the outfit a little more neutral. ¬†What is more neutral then white?

This white ruffle top is the perfect addition to your Fall wardrobe and it includes another Fall trend this year-ruffles! Ruffles are everywhere this season, making your look a little more feminine (my favorite!). ¬†My amazing friends Courtney and Emily (they’re identical twins!) have a fashion line, Takes Two To Trend. ¬†Their pieces are stylish, feminine and super affordable! I found this gorgeous white ruffle top and added a little edge with these buckle heels. You can find both of these pieces at¬†Takes Two To Trend plus so many more pieces! Little Blush Dress

Obviously if you’ve been on social media, you saw that Dave and I go our engagement pictures back. ¬†They were everything we hoped they would be! Just amazing. ¬†Our photographer did a few individual shots for us as he knew I had a fashion blog. ¬†I choose this little blush dress for one of our looks because of how feminine, soft and flattering it was! It went perfectly with the soft, sunset skies we were fortunate to have.

I’m going to be doing a few more ‘engagement’ themed posts (Did you see this post about 8 Healthy Habits to Commit To During Your¬†Engagement)-as I want you to see all of the pictures! There were so many of them! Let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to know or see on the blog coming up!

Edgy Leather

Feminine, Chic, Casual, Affordable- these are all adjectives I would use to describe my style, however sometimes I like to add in another word: edgy. I bought this leather jacket on a whim, looking to reach outside my comfort zone a little bit.  While I tend to gravitate toward more feminine pieces, this jacket called to me.  Adding a little edge to my wardrobe was just what I needed.  A good leather jacket screams confidence, edge and gives your look that little something extra.  I decided to commit to the edgy look by pairing it with my favorite black skinny jeans (only $45 dollars!), black pumps, and a white tee.  Classic, edgy and sophisticated, everything you need for a power outfit! The best part? This investment works in both Fall and Winter-making it a versatile piece in your closet.

Dave and I officially booked our venue and signed the contract! I am so excited and cannot wait to share the details with you! I’ll be doing another life update post soon, sharing a bunch of our wedding planning details. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
